My hasty comment about not needing guides was triggered by the trough of a route that had been channeled by 100+ or so people from the hut to the summit and by walking in a giant conga train up the hill to the summit.....the idea of needing a guide to show us the way seemed funny at that moment. As for the guides looking after us, our wellbeing and teaching us....they were worth every penny as John has pointed ot. Just to clarify and agree with John.
